1. Respect & Conduct:
Treat all teammates, coaches, and visitors with respect at all times.
Negative behaviour, including bullying, unsportsmanlike conduct, or aggression, will not be tolerated.
Follow the instruction of coaches and senior students.
Keep a positive attitude and promote a supportive training environment.
2. Hygiene & Cleanliness:
Gi hygiene: Always wear a clean gi to class. Avoid training in a gi that is soiled or worn out. Gis must be properly washed after every class to maintain cleanliness and prevent the spread of bacteria.
No Gi hygiene: If training without a gi, wear clean, appropriate athletic wear (rash guard, shorts etc) and ensure they are in good condition. Always ensure that your gear is clean and odour-free.
Nail care: Keep your nails trimmed and clean to prevent injury to yourself or others during training. Fingernails and toenails should be short, smooth and well-maintained.
Personal Grooming: Hair should be tied back (for both male and female practitioners) to prevent it from interfering during training.
Ensure there is no excessive body odour. Deodorant is highly encouraged.
3. Footwear & Mats:
Never wear shoes on the mat.
If you notice any issues with the mats (tears, dirt, etc), inform the instructor immediately.
4. Health & Safety
Injury & Illness: If you are sick, especially with a contagious illness, please refrain from attending class to prevent spreading it to others.
If you are injured or feeling unwell, communicate with your coach and avoid participating in activities that could worsen your condition.
Any open cuts, abrasion, or infections must be covered with a bandage or medical tape before training.
Hygiene-Related Conditions: Do not train if you have any skin infections (ringworm, impetigo, etc). Please seek medical attention and return only when cleared by a healthcare professional.
5. Class Etiquette:
Be on time for class. Arriving late disrupts the flow of the class and may also affect your safety during training.
